WTW Director - Placement Specialty Lead in Chicago, Illinois

As the Specialty Placement COE Lead you will lead a team of colleagues across offices who are responsible for the analysis and development of client-facing Placement deliverables for the Client Service teams in the U.S. Your team would be responsible for complex life/disability, voluntary benefits, health/equity/well-being, and pharmacy procurement projects.

The Role

  • Implement and ensure adoption of the development, standardization and continued improvement of Placement templates & tools, as directed by the National Placement COE Lead

  • Managing your regional team’s work load to balance capacity among colleagues, partnering colleagues with RFPs that match their skill sets and/or provide learning and development opportunity

  • Handle escalated RFP issues, partnering with client service and Service Delivery Liaisons and the Global Delivery Centers (GDC) to reach resolution on complex RFPs

  • Be a people manager, demonstrating extensive leadership ability by directly managing, influencing and/or mentoring colleagues in your region

  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment within the Placement COE and Placement GDC teams, and with Client Service teams, Financial/Actuarial/Analytic COE, and Insights & Commercialization teams to optimize and improve client servicing in your region

  • Cascade and share carrier/vendor market insights to support colleagues in staying up to date on market trends

  • Ensure fulfillment of compliance & regulatory requirements via adherence to the Excellence model across regional Placement activities

  • Align to the WTW performance management routines for all direct reports

The Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in professional services, ideally gained in a benefit consulting/brokerage firm or health care vendor/carrier

  • Strong understanding of the placement/broking process – familiarity with marketing, placement and related processes is critical

  • Comfortable with change and uncertainty and able to work and lead through ambiguity

  • Strong familiarity with health & welfare vendor/carrier landscape

  • Experience with negotiation tactics in the health & welfare environment

  • Excellent problem solver with proven ability to recognize and diagnose issues and propose solutions

  • Ability to build, lead and leverage high-performing, diverse teams including offshore colleagues

  • Demonstrated ability to partner and collaborate with colleagues at various levels, including offshore colleagues

  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with carriers / vendors to support WTW objectives

  • Strong organization skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficiency in working with technology and automation colleagues and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

  • Experience of change management, comfortable leading through change

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders

  • Mastery of the H&B Excellence model

  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that base salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation.

Compensation

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $170,000-$180,000 USD.

This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.
