As an analyst in our Benefits Advisory and Compliance (BAC) practice you will work with consultants and senior consultants in the areas related to defined contribution plans including compliance, risk and financial management to Fortune 1000 and other not-for-profit organizations. As a key team member responsible for work product, you will be working directly on client projects in support of broad client engagements as well as answering questions and resolving issues for clients. You will have the opportunity to significantly enhance your knowledge of all aspects of retirement plan compliance, tax reporting, and operations while employing the most cutting edge tools and resources working with some of the world’s experts in retirement plan design and management.
Prepare annual Form 5500s in accordance with plan provisions
Complete forms and necessary plan and financial schedules
Perform projects related to retirement plan compliance, vendor management, fiduciary management and plan design
Become a technical resource to clients and client teams.
Process government filings
Respond to queries from consultants, clients and plan members with respect to plan provisions and resolve/escalate any problems or issues
Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
Deliver work in accordance to project deadlines
Deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations
Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes
Meet chargeable hours targets
Undergraduate degree required; Progress toward ASPA, QKA or CEBS certifications is encouraged and an advantage.
1+ years of experience in employee benefits, retirement, or consulting with a focus on compliance, plan administration, or recordkeeping. Prior experience in professional services firm or legal environment preferred
Some 401(k) plan experience, knowledge of 403(b) and/or defined benefit plans is necessary
Familiarity with IRC, ERISA and other relevant laws and regulations affecting employee benefit plans
Well organized and detail oriented
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels
Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues; strong client service orientation
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Ability to work both independently and on client teams and enjoys a fast-paced environment
Proven experience successfully working on multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time
