WTW Healthcare Financial/Actuarial Director West Region Lead in Houston, Texas

Summary

As a Financial, Actuarial, and Analytics (FAA) Regional Lead, you will contribute to the FAA delivery for your region within WTW North America. You are an H&B financial expert who will oversee teams in the delivery of complex quantitative analyses to clients across all segments, serving on the FAA leadership team to drive consistency and results in North America. You will drive the strategy and grow relationships with clients by leveraging your expertise alongside WTW’s array of solutions and capabilities and will generate new business by participating in prospecting activities.

The Role

  • Demonstrate extensive leadership ability by directly managing, influencing and/or mentoring teams and team mangers within your region (5 teams per region)

  • Take ownership of operations and collaboration for team managers and teams within the region, including allocating resources to meet client needs and integrating Service Delivery Liasons as needed

  • Drive excellence and standardization approach across regional teams

  • Build consensus across regional teams in support of FAA initiatives

  • Partner with client service leads in your region and geographies to ensure financial and actuarial work is meeting client needs and in support of broader H&B client relationships

  • Serve on FAA leadership team providing direction to the team and supporting relevant intellectual capital development as needed

  • Cascade business-critical messages to teams

  • Act as a subject matter expert for multiple FAA topics

  • Contribute to intellectual capital by speaking at conferences, writing articles, and otherwise promoting the business

  • Maintain a book of clients serving as the financial strategic lead (approximately 50% of capacity)

The Requirements

  • 12+ years experience and demonstrated success in the design/management of complex financial topics for health and welfare plans gained in a consulting or brokerage environment

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively motivate and lead high-performing teams

  • Direct people management experience

  • Superior ability to influence and collaborate with leadership teams and work across all levels of an organization

  • Track record of success in managing and growing client relationships

  • An executive presence with polished and well developed written and oral communication skills

  • Interest and aptitude in keeping abreast of latest developments in health and welfare plan strategy and leading the development of new intellectual capital

  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining

  • CEBS designation, or health and welfare actuarial or underwriting training desired

  • Actuarial designation and current continuing education (optional)
