The role

The IT Procurement Business Applications Category

Manager with a focus on bespoke Consulting, Software with Niche suppliers (Licensing

and SaaS services) is responsible for leading key IT Software procurement activity

across the business. They must own the relationships with key senior IT

stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor and partner on procurement related

matters for the IT organization.

The IT Procurement Business Applications Category

Manager will also be responsible for building and maintaining a strong working

relationship with the IT Vendor Management Office. The IT VMO manages a number

of suppliers critical to the day to day running of WTW and as such Procurement

must be ready to engage them as and when required.

Strong Procurement Knowledge of Software & IT Software

Consulting and outsourced partners, plus preferred knowledge of other IT

category spend.

The IT Procurement Business Applications Category Manager should also be

well versed in the latest market trends and insights for their category,

keeping pace with the evolving IT 3 rd party landscape.

Telecoms role:

  • Address all Telecoms spend globallyand in partnership with stakeholders develop and implement a Telecoms category strategy

  • To put the interests of clients andthe integrity of the market at the heart of the way you do business

  • Build and develop strongstakeholder and business relationships

Business Applications role:

  • Address Software spend and vendorsfor Business Applications and Consultancy Partners

  • To put the interests of clients and the integrity of the market at theheart of the way you do business

The requirements:

Telecoms role:

  • Developmentan Telecoms Category Strategy / planning addressing short, mid, and long term businessgoals and objectives

  • Managekey Sourcing processes (RFI’s / RFP’s) and negotiate best commercial andcontractual terms

  • StrongTelecoms procurement skills and experience negotiating bespoke Global agreements

Business Applications role:

  • Developmentan IT Business Applications Category Strategy / planning addressing short, mid, and long term business goalsand objectives

  • Managekey Sourcing processes and negotiate best commercial and contractual terms

  • StrongIT procurement and negotiating bespoke Software Licensing experience

Both roles:

  • Leadershipof high profile IT sourcing initiatives

  • Providesupport, guidance and direction to other members of the IT Procurement Team

  • Strongstakeholder skills and experience in managing and gaining internal stakeholderapproval

  • Proven track record of year on year delivery

  • Proven working background is essential

  • Botha strategic and analytical mind-set

  • Creativityto seek, encourage and find non-traditional approaches to procurementchallenges

  • Changemanagement and self-awareness skills to adopt targeted approaches to a dynamicset of stakeholders

  • Excellentcommunication skills and strong listening skills

  • Abilityto articulate procurement’s value, specifically as an IT Procurement businesspartner

  • In-depthknowledge of sourcing andprocurement principles and best practices

  • StrongIT services contract negotiation experience

  • Strongnegotiation skills

  • Familiaritywith relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understandingof standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk
