WTW Senior Associate - Lenders Insurance Advisory Practice in London, United Kingdom

The Role

  • Working within the Lenders’ Insurance Advisory Practice (“LIAP”) team and based in our London office, you will make and maintain contact with key project finance lenders in London and elsewhere around the world.

  • Preparing proposals in response to bid requests and negotiating terms of consultancy assignments.

  • Undertake insurance due diligence consultancy assignments in accordance with the agreed scope of work. This is likely to involve:

  • Attendance at meetings with bankers, project sponsors and legal advisers (mainly internationally recognised firms) and borrower’s representatives and their advisers including many of the world’s foremost legal and technical specialists.

  • Researching technical aspects of insurance for specific projects and liaising with technical specialists within the Group

  • Preparation of insurance reports

  • Giving written and verbal advice to lenders on the insurance aspects arising out of their loans

  • Presentations to lenders

  • Negotiating with the project company’s placing brokers

  • Ensure that the services delivered to clients meet the working practices and standards set by the LIAP team in London.

  • Manage fee transactions.

The Requirements

This role would suit someone with some general insurance knowledge with industrial/commercial risks or someone with a legal background with experience in PPP/PFI or infrastructure project financing. A good knowledge of Construction insurances would be useful but not essential. The ability to work independently but also able to and good verbal and written presentation skills are essential.

  • French and English language capabilities are a requirement for this role;

  • Impeccable organisational skills with thorough and close attention to detail;

  • Ability to prioritise workload, monitor and manage multiple tasks, and work to deadlines using own initiative;

  • Must recognise and display high level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive data;

  • Flexible, adaptable and a good team player with excellent people skills;

  • Be prepared to take an active part in problem solving and have a 'can do' approach to work;

  • Able to work under pressure as part of a team and independently; and

  • Ability to demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels.
