WTW Retirement Consultant in Madrid, Spain

We combine expertise in retirement and investment consulting to support organisations worldwide in designing, managing, administering and communicating all types of retirement-related plans.

The Role

As a Retirement Consultant you will apply your consulting, actuarial, and project management expertise in the areas of scheme valuation and design, compliance and risk & financial management to FTSE 100 and other organisations of similar size. You will help both trustee and corporate clients achieve their evolving commercial objectives by aligning their defined benefit plans accordingly. Given the size and complexity of our client portfolio, you will have the opportunity to support diverse projects related to mergers & acquisitions, asset liability studies, forecasting, early retirement windows and other special projects as needed. You will also be instrumental in designing and keeping our range of internal and external consulting tools at the leading edge of technological advances.

Technical/Thought leadership

  • Identify opportunities and contribute to the development of new IT tools and technical and commercial approaches

  • Provide value-added consulting expertise on retirement plan valuation, design, financial risk management and funding projects

  • Seek and participate in key internal and external learning and development opportunities

Project management

  • Ensure all work complies with current and changing legislation and regulation and meets internal quality standards

  • Ensure budgets are accurately determined and maintained throughout the life of assigned projects

  • Identify needs, manage internal resource and coordinate suppliers cost effectively to achieve project objectives

  • Manage key stakeholders and other interested parties

People

  • Build internal and external relationships and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels

  • Serve as a coach and mentor to more junior team associates

Client/Account management

  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects

  • Manage client expectations and escalate appropriate issues to Senior Consultants and Client Relationship Managers

  • Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues

  • Deliver superior, consistent project management for assigned clients

Financial/revenue generation

  • Support the generation of new business as part of the broader team

  • Directly contribute to clients’ success through applying your technical expertise

  • Maintain a sound understanding of the commercial needs of Willis Towers Watson as a thriving business

  • Ensure all work completed is accounted for promptly and accurately

  • Identify ways to increase efficiency within internal client and support teams

The Requirements

  • Experience and expertise delivering retirement consulting services to FTSE 100 or organisations of similar size is ideal.

  • An excellent track record in delivering core retirement and bespoke project work as well as the ability to contribute to cross-practice client engagements.

  • Proven experience in successfully managing multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget.

  • Strong sense of personal accountability.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable, working environment.

  • Excellent client relationship, interpersonal and team skills.

  • Obvious leadership potential.
