WTW Reserving Senior Analyst - P&C in Milano, Italy

We are looking for a Non-Life Reserving actuary to join WTW as a senior analyst in our general insurance practice within the wider Italy Insurance Consulting and Technology (“ICT”) line of business.

The successful applicant will work as a member of several project teams supporting clients on a wide variety of engagements covering topics such as independent reserve reviews, process transformation & automation, methodology reviews, ResQ implementations, M&A due diligence, outsourced reserving functions, IFRS17 and Solvency II engagements. Our clients demand leading edge products and expertise, and as a Senior Analyst with our firm, you can expect to gain relevant exposure to all facets of insurance operations. This position comes with significant upwards potential for a successful and motivated candidate.

The Role

Reserving Senior Analyst P&C

Depending on your level of experience, you would join our team in Rome or Milan as a Senior Analyst or Consultant.

  • You will be involved in client engagements such as independent reserve reviews as well as some/all of our other reserving offerings including process transformation & automation, methodology reviews, ResQ implementations, M&A due diligence, outsourced reserving functions, IFRS17 and Solvency II engagements. The mix between these will depend on your experience and interests, balanced against the relative client demand.

  • Your responsibilities will also include data preparation, as well as producing and analyzing the initial results. You will work closely with consultants and project managers in Italy and across the region who will help you to increase your insurance knowledge and sharpen your actuarial skills, all while providing a blend of client-facing exposure as well.

  • You will develop actuarial models using WTW’s market leading actuarial software and techniques to produce customized solutions f or our clients.

The Requirements

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or any other related quantitative fields.

  • Non-life insurance background, up to 5 years of experience in general insurance or consulting roles.

  • Qualified actuary (ISoA or equivalent) or experience working in this role.

  • Well-developed verbal, written and spoken skills in English.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication, especially in presentation and report writing.

  • Good time management skills, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently.

  • Self-driven achiever, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work on client teams and enjoy a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and Access.

  • Availability to travel to our Italian offices or client site on an as needed basis.

  • Understanding of Pricing techniques is a plus.

  • Familiarity with WTW’s actuarial modelling software (e.g. ResQ, ResQ Financial Reporter, Igloo) and programming languages (e.g. Python, R) is a plus.
