WTW Platform Product/ Developer Relations Manager in Reigate, United Kingdom

We are looking for a talented and driven technical Product / DevRel Manager to join and help build out our newly formed Platform Group to deliver internal Platform capabilities.

As a Platform Product / DevRel Manager, you will be joining a successful global team and provide leadership to deliver Platform Solutions which our internal engineering teams will adopt and consume. We will entrust you to inspire and foster innovation, quality, and consistency through the Platform services which we build out and maintain.

This role will balance out three important skills:

  1. The ability to manage long-term roadmaps aligned to our business strategy

  2. A strong understanding of technical teams, practices, and technologies

  3. Great interpersonal skills and working with multiple stakeholders.

The Platform solutions will comprise of key Infrastructure and Components for multiple Engineering teams to adopt to speed up their software development practices and time to market

  • As a Platform Product / DevRel Manager, you will:

  • Take overall lead and vision for the creation of Platform components that deliver value and speed for the rest of the Technical Delivery Organisation. Examples of these solutions will be Access Management, Deployment Tooling, Customer Portal, Activity History, Customer Notifications, User Analytics.

  • Work closely with the internal customers of the Platform to ensure our solutions are suitably robust, prioritised, and meet requirements. These customers will be Engineering Teams, Principal Architects, and end-user-based Product Managers.

  • Work closely with the Principal Platform Architect to ensure robust and innovative architecture and technology strategies become part of our Platform.

  • Ensure Platform roadmaps are suitably dynamic, transparent, communicated and understood with wider stakeholders.

  • Continually improve existing Platform Solutions to ensure that we meet changes in priorities, technologies, and users.

  • Make key executive decisions when we have constraints on delivering all requested Platform developments.

  • Play an important role within a wider programme to deliver next generation technical solutions and approaches.

  • Coach and mentor a few Platform Product Owners, establishing a collaborative and quality-focused culture.

  • Actively partake in the Platform Leadership team, including regular reporting of progress, risks, and opportunities.

The essential skills/experience for this position are:

  • Strong technical experience, ideally with tools or technologies that are common services consumed by Engineering teams.

  • Product responsibilities for multi-service and long-term roadmaps.

  • Managing multiple and varied internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Very strong interpersonal skills, being able to frequently interchange technical and business language.

  • Managing a team of Product Owners and / or Business Analysts who perform more detailed user stories and validation activities with teams.

  • Strong project management skills including dependency management, team blockage removal and health.

  • Contributions into wider organisational strategic product visions.

  • Knowledge and passion for new product management techniques and practices, and ability to educate other aspiring colleagues to grow in the organisation.

  • Resilient work ethic and leadership skills: enthusiastic, motivational, proactive, knowledgeable, collaborative, and always looking to improve the way things are done.

  • Experience in Product Management of solutions within Public Cloud and as Software as a Service.

  • Experience in fostering close relationships with Engineering customers of software solutions.
