Summary of Role

For over a decade, Willis Towers Watson has advised institutional funds on a delegated basis. We are responsible for around US$87 billion of delegated and fiduciary assets worldwide. Through the acquisition of the OXIP Investment Management in 2013 and the creation of Towers Watson Investment Management Limited and Towers Watson Investment Management Ireland Limited the group now includes 2 Investment Management firms subject to regulation by the CBI in Ireland, FCA in the UK and SEC in the US in respect to their Investment related regulated activities.

As a Risk Manager you will assist the Chief Risk Officer in providing the required Risk Oversight for the firm. Your main responsibilities will be to support the development and implementation of the risk management framework in order to identify, measure, manage and monitor all relevant risks to the firm and the funds. As part of the Risk Management team you will liaise with all other functional areas of the business including management, compliance, product, marketing , client servicing, portfolio management, reporting and operations.

The Role

  • Documentation and regular review of the Risk Management Policies.

  • Compilation and regular review of the identified risks on the Risk Register.

  • Assessment of risks based on analysis of quantitative and qualitative reports.

  • Monitoring of positions against risk limits.

  • Maintenance of Issues Log and tracking of action points to ensure timely and satisfactory completion.

  • Co-ordination and completion of regulatory reporting, including AIFMD Annex IV reporting.

  • Co-ordination of periodic risk disclosure to investors.

  • Preparation of Manager and Fund Risk Profile Snapshots for the various committees.

  • Assist with provision of regulatory and risk related advice to the business as required.

  • Assist with monitoring and analysis of regulatory and risk developments to ensure firms remain compliant and in line with best practice.

  • Assist with preparation and delivery of relevant risk (and compliance) training.

The Requirements

  • Good experience of investment performance, risk and attribution and/or client reporting (ideally within an investment consultancy or asset management environment)

  • Relevant asset management and risk management experience. AIFMD and/or publicly traded investment trust regulatory knowledge ideal but not essential.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to organise and prioritise multiple tasks to successfully meet deadlines and quickly understand and apply new subject matter.
