The Performance

Test Engineer role

will work on the Quality Assurance team and serve as an integral member of a

global Agile Product Development team to deliver Willis Towers Watson’s

technology products to our external or internal clients. This role works with Willis Towers Watson’s

proprietary and/or industry-leading systems and applications, to ensure that

these are designed, built and tested according to agreed-upon technicalspecifications and performance quality standards. You will develop and integrate high

quality automated performance tests for products built on the latest software

architecture patterns and platforms; you will be part of a forward thinking and

technology focused Quality Assurance team that seeks to leverage and develop

the latest and greatest in the field of performance testing to deliver Willis

Towers Watson products to the market place.

Key Accountabilities /


  • Work with Product, UI/UX, Architecture, IT Opsand Development teams in identifying non-functionalrequirements/performance criteria to define appropriate performance testsand test environment needed.

  • Tap into available resources to understandclient usage patterns and data sizes and reflect that appropriately inload test efforts.

  • Define and create the performance test planand strategic roadmap.

  • Create high quality, reliable and reusable performancetests from non-functional requirements and performance quality standards tohelp get the team closer to the goal of delivering working software toproduction at the conclusion of every sprint.

  • Conduct performance test; measure, analyze andevaluate performance results; establish benchmarks; and provide summaryreport/s and recommendation as necessary.

  • Work with the development team in theinvestigation and resolution of performance related issues andbottlenecks.

  • Participatein defect review process and continue to identify improvements inpreventing and early detection of client production issuesrelated to performance.

  • Help support and maintain the goal ofcontinuous and daily automated load/performance test execution and a properanalysis and communication of results.

  • Advocateimproving performance quality standards and processes during all stages ofsoftware development.

  • Serveas a champion of load and performance testing, and help support the QACommunity of Practice, knowledge sharing sessions, lunch & learn,brown bag sessions, and other learning sessions.

  • Conducttrainings and provide assistance to other Performance Test Engineers andother colleagues.

  • Suggest new tools andtechniques to improve performance testing efficiency.

The Requirements

  1. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in a technology related discipline, such as IT or Engineering

  2. Demonstrate a strong understanding of SDLC process and experience in Agile/Scrum framework.

  3. Experienced with creating performance test scenarios from non-functional requirements and/or User Stories

  4. Experienced with creating and implementing strategic roadmap for load testing; design standards, tools, architecture

  5. Working knowledge of load balancing, single/multi tenancy, microservices, cloud, and multi-tier web application architectures

  6. Applied knowledge and experienced with performance testing categories such as, but not limited to: stress, load, endurance, volume, and scalability testing.

  7. Applied knowledge and experience on tools such as Load Runner, Visual Studio Enterprise Web Load and Performance Testing, Git, TeamCity, Fiddler, Dynatrace, SQL Server Profiler, Oracle SQL Developer or other profiling and performance tools

  8. Proven Experience in writing T-SQL, Shell scripts, Pro* C and/or C

  9. Proven experience working in both Linux and Windows Operating Systems

  10. Experienced working and proactively collaborates with globally distributed development teams and business stakeholders, seeking out information/solution from the appropriate channel/s as necessary

  11. Excellent organization skills, multitasking ability, manages time effectively by placing the right focus on value adding operations

  12. Strong verbal and written communication skills

  13. Strong research, analytical, and problem solving skills
